The BAFA are delighted to confirm that WSP Manager, Ken Walters, represented BAFA at the recent CEO’s Convention in Solihull.

On the convention, Ken commented, ‘It was a great pleasure to work with senior representatives from other sports in Great Britain”. Ken added, “It was re-assuring to hear our challenges are common with other sports and that we could offer some contribution to fellow sports in addressing them as well as benefiting from their experiences too. The Convention was an excellent vehicle for facilitating this”.

The event included the following topics and workshops:
  • Raising the bar - How sport can apply the principles of business. A presentation by Graham Neale - VP and GM of Nutritional Healthcare, GlaxoSmithKline
  • Leadership and excellence. Two presentations by Dave Collins - Performance Director, UK Athletics and Pat Duffy - CEO, Sportscoach UK.
  • Managing Change - a view from the top. A workshop chaired by Brigid Simmonds - CCPR Chair and supported by a panel including:
    • Richard Lewis - Executive Chair, Rugby Football League
    • David Sparkes - CEO, British Swimming
    • Chris Baillieu - Chair, British Swimming
    • Paul Clark - Interim CEO, England Netball
    • Cheryl Danson - Chair, England Netball
    • Sue Tibballs - CEO, Women’s Sports and Fitness Foundation
