BAFA is maintaining its 4-year association with Sports Officials UK - the umbrella body for officiating that covers all the major sports and many smaller ones.
 
Sports Officials UK (SOUK) has recently become a limited company in order to enable it to deliver generic officiating support services to member sports. These are hoped to include the development of generic training materials for officials (based on the National Occupational Standards for officiating that have been developed in recent years), training for officiating tutors (those who train officials), and support for the promotion of officiating and the recruitment of officials in general.
 
It is expected that British American Football will benefit from these and other initiatives.
