On October 23, BAFA WSP Manager, Ken Walters, represented BAFA at the launch of the CCPR initiative. "Subs for Clubs", in the House of Commons.

"Subs for Clubs" is calling on the Government to increase the financial benefits available to Community Amateur Sports Clubs on the income they generate from their junior subscriptions. The CASC scheme has already saved grassroots sport over £22 million and the adoption of the Subs for Clubs campaign would help to ensure that grassroots sports clubs thrive and also help to hone the sports stars of tomorrow.

Fifty-seven national governing bodies of sport and recreation (including BAFA) are supporting the campaign.

Legendary former Liverpool and England Midfielder and current dance wizard on Strictly Come Dancing, John Barnes MBE joined MPs and the CCPR at the launch. John recently said of the Subs for Clubs campaign, "The CASC scheme is one of the best ways for clubs to save money. I know how important even small amounts of extra cash can be for clubs. The more clubs sign up to the scheme the more money there will be in sport and, hopefully, this event will raise awareness of that."

Ken Walters commented, "The event was a great success with almost one hundred MP’s in attendance. The BAFA would like to congratulate the CCPR on its successful launch and we commit to supporting the project everyway we can".
