BAFA presents at the EU Parliament in Brussels

BAFA Whole Sport Plan Manager, Ken Walters, recently presented to The Sports Intergroup, chaired by Mr. Chris Heaton-Harris MEP at the EU Parliament in Brussels.

The Sports Intergroup, is a group of Members of the European Parliament with a common interest in sports. Members include former Olympic medalists, athletes, referees, and fans of sports. What brings them together is their belief that sports plays a unique social, societal, economic and cultural role in Europe and beyond, and that 'sports' is much broader than professional sports. The role of the Sports Intergroup is to actively promote the needs of amateur athletes, children, disabled persons in any and all of the decisions they make.

Speaking on the presentation, Ken Walters commented, 'I was delighted to have the opportunity to present our European and International agenda to such an important and influential audience'. Ken added, 'I remain hopeful that we have gained support for the work we are doing in our field as a result of this meeting'.

BAFA Chairman, Gary Marshall, added, 'I'd like to take the opportunity to thank James MacDougall and Richard Norman from the CCPR and Chris Heaton-Harris MEP for the opportunity to speak about our European and International agenda to such a broad audience'.
