Sunday 31st October sees the Great Britain Lions Youth take on the Dusseldorf Panthers at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
This game will be the culmination of the hard work and efforts put in by the Lions during the camps this year, and should provide both teams with a stern test. Let down by Italy over the summer, the Lions will be looking to round out the year with a good performance.
Several of the best young players in Britball will be able to showcase their talents, including Quarterback David Mead, Linebacker Gary Clark, OL Ollie Barrett, and CB Kyle Walker. Many of the squad have already played BSL football.
Head Coach Tony Mulhall:
“The players on show in this game have all worked hard this year to improve. With the talent contained in this team, there will be a serious influx of quality into the BSL in the coming years. There’s still plenty of room for improvement, and when we really sell the concept of lifting and conditioning to the clubs, the Lions youth will realise their full potential. Some of the guys have been in the system for 3 years now, and it is very satisfying to see them develop into quality players.
We’d like to invite everyone to this game, to show their support for our youngsters, and also to see first hand the talented immediate future of Britball.”
The Dusseldorf Panthers are a powerhouse of German Football on every level, and will bring several of the best youth players in Germany to the fray. Head Coach Gunter Bock’s team will be physical and well prepared.
Kick off is at 1.00pm, coin-toss to be performed by Gb Lions senior captain Damien Anderson, at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, Ledrington Road, Norwood, SEI9 2BL. Admission is £3, which will qualify all fans for a raffle, and part fund the next youth football event of the year, the annual England vs Scotland game.
