Team England Flag Head Coach & Camp

The National Programme are pleased to announce that Jon Tait has been appointed Team England Flag Head Coach

Jon is currently the Woodham Warriors Head Coach (NFL UK Champions 2005). Before this he founded the Eastbourne Eagles and took them to the NFL European Championships in 2001.His role is to oversee and manage the cadet, junior and youth national sides in England.

It has also been announced that the National Selection Camp 2005 (Flag) will take place in June. This camp is designed to select the elite young players from this country to represent Team England and possibly the GB Lions.

This will take place on Sat June 18th at Belgrave Rugby Club, Leicester starting at 11am.

Trials are for the following Team England Flag Football age groups:

Cadet born 01/01/92 or after
Junior born 01/01/90 - 31/12/91
Youth born 01/01/87 - 31/12/89

Players should only attend if they have been 'pre selected' via their club head coach. Having to see hundreds of players all on one day will be impossible to facilitate and also reduce the quality and effectiveness of the selection process. Club Head Coaches must only nominate players who they feel have a real chance of progressing to national level.

Important: All nominated players must be registered with BYAFA and will have to produce their BYAFA ID card on the day. Players will also have to conform to EFAF and BYAFA rules by wearing gum shields and not wearing metal studded boots.

All names of nominated players in all of the 3 age categories must be registered with me before June 11th. Please do this via e mail and include name, d.o.b, age group, preferred position and club team.
